Whete is the Timor-Leste?. 東ティモールはどこにある？？

夫が2020年１０月に東ティモール赴任後、家族同伴はいつになるか分からない状況でしたが、

2021年２月、家族も東ティモールに赴任できるようになりました。

 

痛くて嫌すぎるコロナ検査で陰性証明書も頂き、ついに私も赴任日です。

 

コロナ禍の成田空港は全然人がいません。

お店も閉まっております。

まるで映画の撮影のために貸し切りにしたよう。

 

利用客も少ないせいか、辺鄙な所に赴任するからか 笑 カウンターの人達はとても丁寧に優しく対応してくれました。

 

東ティモールに行く、というと何故か多くの人が「アフリカだよね？」と言ってきます。

モーリシャス、とかに引っ張られているのでしょうか？？

 

東ティモールは東南アジアに属します。 

 インドネシア諸島近くで、

オーストラリアの北に位置します。

ティモール島の東側が東ティモールで、

西側は飛び地のオエクシ以外はインドネシアです。

 

本来はバリ経由等で行けたようですが

 

コロナ禍は一般の飛行機が運行していないので、

マレーシアのクアラルンプール経由のチャーター便での特別な赴任となりました。

 

飛行機の中もガラガラで、なんだか異様な光景です。

３列シートにゴロンと横になれたのは助かりました。 ちゃんと機内食も出ましたし、

キャビンアテンダントさんの対応も至れり尽くせりでしたし。。一人赴任で不安いっぱいだった私はすごく心に染みました。。

 

クアラルンプール到着。

空港内のホテルに１泊です。

(エアコンがききすぎて寒すぎて震えて寝ました)

よく考えたらこれが人生初のマレーシアでした。

味わったのは寒さだけ、、泣

 

翌日早朝、ついに東ティモール赴任です。。！

After my husband was posted to Timor-Leste in October 2020, it was unclear when I would be able to accompany my family.

 

In February 2021, family member able to go to Timor-Leste as well.

 

After receiving a negative certificate after a painful and unpleasant COVID-19 test, my departure day finally arrived.

 

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Narita Airport is completely deserted.

The shops are closed as well.

It was as if the airport had been rented out for a movie shoot.

 

Perhaps because there were few customers or because I am going to a remote area, the people at the counter were very polite and kind.

 

When I say I'm going to Timor-Leste, for some reason many people say, "That's in Africa, right?"

 

Do they all think it's Mauritius?

 

Timor-Leste is part of Southeast Asia. 

It's near the Indonesian archipelago and north of Australia.

 

The eastern side of Timor Island is Timor-Leste, and the western side is Indonesia except for the exclave of Oecussi.

 

Normally I could have gone there via Bali, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, regular flights are not operating, so I was take in this special post on a charter flight via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

The plane was almost completely empty, which was a strange sight.

 

It was a relief to be able to lie down in the third row of seats. I was served a proper meal, and the cabin attendants were extremely attentive.

 

I was very anxious about being posted alone, so their kindness really touched my heart.

 

Arrived in Kuala Lumpur.

I stayed overnight at a hotel in the airport.

(The air conditioning was so strong that I was so cold that I slept shivering.)

 

When I thought about it, this was my first time in Malaysia.

 

All I experienced was the cold... sob

 

Early the next morning, I am going yo finally post to Timor-Leste. . !
